Dr. Jordan Black, PT, DPT is Owner of Tristar Physical Therapy. Jordan is a native of Morristown, TN earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2013. He later completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine in St. Augustine, Florida. Along with his educational experiences, Jordan has many clinic experiences including:
  • Student Athletic Trainer for the University of Tennessee football team from 2011-2013
  • Completion of manual therapy certification courses through the University of St. Augustine
  • Rehabilitating professional athletes from the NFL, NBA and MMA
  • Athletic Field Evaluations
  • Experience with Selective Functional Movement Assessment
  • Certified in Dry Needling through Integrative Dry Needling

Brandon Brewer, PTA

Vice President


Brandon is a 2006 graduate from Walter’s State Community College receiving an Associate’s of Applied Science in Physical Therapist Assistant. He has spent his career in the outpatient setting with a special interest in the treatment of spine disorders using a variety of manual therapy techniques including joint mobilization, soft tissue release, and myofascial release. Brandon is also trained in McKenzie Method. He has extensive experience in the treatment of a variety of both orthopedic and neurological disorders.

Brandon’s Vision: I ve always felt like God led me into this field and blessed me with the ability and skills to help patients recover from their injury. It is my goal each day to use those abilities to help my patients reach their goals and improve their quality of life. I feel blessed each day to do this job, and have the opportunity to have a positive impact on those in our community!

Dr. Nick Moore, PT, DPT

Clinic: New Tazewell


Nick is the head physical therapist at our New Tazewell clinic and has been instrumental in creating a positive impact in Claiborne County. Nick enjoys seeing all patients ranging from all walks of life.

Nick enjoys Tennessee football, outdoor activities, and spending time with his wife, dog and newborn son.

Caitlin Neely, PT DPT

Clinic: Maryville 
Caitlin is a graduate of East Tennessee State University where she received her Bachelors of Science and Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She has worked in the outpatient world since graduating in 2016 with a focus on manual treatment. Her clinical interests include:

*Temporomandibular Dysfunction

Caitlin lives in Knoxville with her husband and 3 dogs and enjoys spending time outside hiking and kayaking.

Sydney Friedman, M.S., CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Clinic: Maryville 

“Sydney is originally from San Diego and moved to East Tennessee with her husband in 2014. She received her B.A. from the University of California, San Diego where she was captain of the field hockey and equestrian teams.

Sydney received her M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Tennessee. Sydney has clinical experience with medically fragile patients dependent on ventilators and tracheostomy, stroke survivors, and individuals with cognitive impairments. She specializes in the treatment of pediatric speech disorders, developmental language delays, treatment of individuals with complex communication needs, and implementation of Alternative and Augmentative Communication strategies (AAC). 

Outside of working as a Speech Pathologist, Sydney spends her time with her husband and dogs, horseback riding competitively, and enjoying the beautiful lakes and mountains that East Tennessee has to offer. “

Andrew Fowler, PTA

Clinic: Bean Station

Andrew is a 2019 graduate of Walters States Community College receiving an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Physical Therapy Assistant. Andrew’s passion for helping others began at a very young age where he attended Physical Therapy treatments with his father who had both shoulder and hip procedures rehabilitated. He has a background of treating patients in a variety of settings such as outpatient, acute care and assisted living facilities. He has clinical experiences rehabilitating patients ranging from post-operative joint replacements to those suffering from neurological disorders.


Andrew’s Vision: “I have been given the talent and ability to impact my community for the better and that shows every day that I am able to help better someone’s ability to get into their car easier, reach that coffee cup in the cupboard and picking their grandchild up for the first time pain-free. Seeing other’s improvements in their abilities to perform everyday tasks with ease makes my hard work all worth it in the end.”

Brittany Taylor, PTA, CLT – Clinic Director

Clinic: New Tazewell

 Brittany is a Physical Therapist Assistant and also the Clinic Director in our New Tazewell office. She graduated in 2019 from Walters State Community College with her A.A.S. as a Physical Therapist Assistant. In March 2021, Brittany completed her Certified Lymphedema Therapist certification from The Academy of Lymphatic Studies. Brittany’s clinical interests include:

-Complete Decongestive Therapy

-Neuromuscular Rehabilitation

-Sports Medicine Rehabilitation

As a native to Claiborne County, Brittany enjoys giving back to her community. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family & friends, and is an avid animal lover with two pets of her own, Trixie & Murphy.

Renee Duncan, Office Manager

Hometown: Middlesboro, KY

Clinic: Morristown 

Renee is not only Morristown’s office manager, she plays a role in assisting with technicians as well as coordinating with therapists. She is an avid hiker and loves the outdoors. She has has even hiked Mt. Katahdin in Maine.

She has been married for the past 26 years with two daughters and grandbaby.

Renee is instrumental in keeping one of our busiest clinics running and never hesitates to put all of our patients first.

Chasity James, – Executive Assistant

Hometown: Morristown, Tennessee

Chasity and her husband, Jonathan, have been married for 10 years. They have two sons, Bentley (9) and Jack (5). Their family attends Spruce Pine Grove.

She is a major Bigfoot lover. She also has a passion for baking, camping, outdoor activities, and the color pink.

Chasity loves all of her patients at Tristar. She enjoys watching patients come in, progress, and leave pain free. On top of being a jack-of-all-trades, Chasity has created a culture here that emphasizes investment in the process and attention to detail. Barbara King, Front Office Operations Manager

Barb and her husband, Mike, have two beautiful daughters, and four wonderful grandchildren whom they love, love, love.

Barb attends Spruce Pine Grove Baptist Church and has a great love for Jesus.

She loves camping, and her favorite color is pink. She wants to visit Italy one day.

Barb’s goals is to always be a smiling face and warm welcome to the patients since she is the first face they see. She is always striving to be a good wife, mother, grandmother, friend, but most importantly Christian.

Nikki Atkins, Billing Manager

Department: Billing

Nikki has been with Tristar since February 2019 managing the billing department.

She and her husband, Shannon, have been together since middle school. They got married in February 1997, and have 2 beautiful daughters, Michaela and Anna. 

Nikki enjoys baking, fishing, spending time with family, friends, and her 2 dachshunds (Levi and Kali).

Ryan Gibson, PTA, Director of Operations

Hometown: Mooresburg, TN

Ryan and his wife Kaylee have been married for one year and have a little girl, Josie, who is 3 months. They attend Clinchdale Baptist Church, and in 2016 Ryan announced his calling to preach.

He graduated from the Walters State PTA program in 2019. He loves working with the spine and manual therapy.

His hobbies include hunting and fishing. His favorite color is orange!

Fun fact about Ryan is his childhood nickname was Sweetcheeks!

Ryan’s goals as clinic director are to be a good leader for his team and help his clinic expand.

Future Goals: Currently attending Carson Newman with hopes of attending PT school

Specialties/Clinical Interest: Orthopedics/Spinal Injuries

Hobbies: Crossfit, cooking, and spending time with her Shih-Tzu and Golden Doodle pups.

Megan Gibson, OTR/L

Megan earned her Bachelor of Science degree from East Tennessee State University. She then graduated from Milligan University with her M.S in Occupational Therapy. She has clinical experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. 

Her clinical interests include:

Ashlyn Curtis – PTA

Clinic: Maryville 

Ashlyn is a local, born and raised in Maryville,TN. She graduated from William Blount Highschool which is down the road from our Maryville Location. 

She received her Associates of Applied Health Science at Roane State Community College and graduated from their physical therapist assistant program and became licensed in 2017. Ashlyn was introduced to PT in high school with sports related injuries and taking her papaw to all his PT appointments. She gives all the glory to God and her papaw for becoming a PTA. “I saw how big of a change PT had on my papaw. He loved his therapists. They created such a positive outlook on his life. He walked in every day with a huge smile on his face and always enjoyed going to PT. I knew then this is what God and I wanted me to do.”

Ashlyn has experience working with pediatrics, geriatrics, aquatic therapy, and post op care. She specializes in stroke/neurological rehabilitation. Ashlyn also has worked in several different settings such as: Skilled Nursing Facilities, school systems, and outpatient care which is the care we provide at our clinic. Ashlyn is LSVT Big certified as well. LSVT BIG is a research-based exercise program that is an intensive, effective, one-on-one treatment created to help people with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological conditions that address walking, balance and other activities of daily living.

Outside of work she enjoys the outdoors: camping, hunting and fishing with her dad, gardening, being on the lake, and taking road trips and traveling. She also enjoys doing DIY projects.


    Savannah Hopkins, PTA

    Savannah is a Physical Therapist Assistant in our New Tazewell office. She graduated college in 2021 from Walters State Community College with her A.A.S as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Savannah’s clinical interests include:

    -Orthopedic Post-Operative Rehabilitation

    -Pediatric Therapy


    Savannah is local to Sneedville, TN. In her spare time from treating, Savannah enjoys traveling, attending concerts, and spending time with her friends & family. Savannah also enjoys collecting vintage salt & pepper shakers. 


      Meet Christina Vaughn!

      Staff Development Specialist

      Christina and her husband, Wesley, have been married for almost 7 years and have two little boys, Maddox and Colton.

      Her family attends Spruce Pine Grove Baptist church.

      Christina’s hobbies include shopping, decorating, and hanging with her family. Her favorite food is anything Chinese/Japanese, and her favorite color is lime green.

      Christina is so grateful to be a part of the TriStar family, and for the opportunities that she has had while working here. She loves that each day is different. She also enjoys getting to travel to the different clinics, and train the new patient care coordinators when they are hired on. 


        Abi Kimbrough

        Clinic: Bean Station Patient Care Coordinator 

        In my free time I love to spend time with family and friends especially my nephew Easton. I go to Church at Fernwood Baptist and love my church family! I love to be around people every day and I am looking into the PTA program at WSCC to hopefully join the new class next Fall. This job came to me because God knew that I needed to see the experience in a Physical Trainer Office and see the love that this company brings to everyone they’re around. Can’t wait to see where my future takes me while being here! 


          Mari Losurdo  

          Primary clinic – Maryville Patient Care Coordinator

          Mari is from Chicago and is a mom to 3 boys. In her free time, she likes to ride her motorcycle and play drums.


            Dominique Carpio, OTR/L

            Dominique received her Master of Occupational Therapy degree from Delaware State University. Her passion for OT began in undergrad when a friend passed away and she realized that life is too short not to live it to serve others. Now she hopes to help all people with disabilities and injuries regain function to be able to do anything they want to do in life! Dominique’s interests in OT are orthopedic and neurological injuries. Outside of OT are her family, friends, her dog Noah, fitness, and her Catholic faith. 


              Amanda Dunn, COTA/L, CPAM

              Amanda is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant located at our New Tazewell office and soon to be

              Rogersville office. Amanda earned her AAS as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from Walters State

              Community College in 2019, as well as a certification in Physical Agent Modalities in the spring of 2019.

              Her clinical interests include orthopedic injuries and conditions, pediatrics, and stroke rehabilitation.

              Amanda is a local from Rutledge, TN where she lives with her husband, Brandon and their pets, 2 dogs

              and 2 cats. In her free time, she enjoys collecting antiques of all sorts and shopping.


                Jessi Rice, OTR/L

                Clinic: Morristown

                Jessi received her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She further pursued her education and graduated from the MSOT program at Lenoir-Rhyne University. She has been an occupational therapist for 4 years with experience dealing with medically complex patients in acute care and pediatrics. Jessi is LSVT BIG certified. 

                When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, traveling, shopping, and boating on Cherokee Lake. She loves her two fur babies, Coors and Fenway. 


                  Jamie Jones, COTA

                  As a 2021 graduate from the OTA program at Walter State Community College in Greenville, TN. Jamie has clinical interests in hand therapy, manual techniques (IASTM and mobilizations techniques), orthopedic shoulder conditions, and pediatrics. 

                  Jamie has obtained her physical agent modalities certification. (PAMS) 

                  Jamie’s hobbies include traveling, hiking, and spending time with her husband, family, friends, and dog Kyra.
